by SmokeRingHalo, 2 years agoWorked great for a long time but stopped working on youtube over time by first having ads skip to the skip button, and then stopped blocking youtube ads completely. I followed the developer recommendations from other review responses and they didn't help. As someone who spends a lot of time on youtube, I had to find another solution. I added Ublock and haven't gotten an ad on youtube since. Perhaps the paid pro version of ABP works better on youtube but I wasn't going to take the chance of upgrading just to find out it doesn't. ABP used to be the best ad blocker. It's a shame that it no longer works as well as it used to.

posted 2 years agoWe're aware that YouTube has been intermittently testing strategies to show either ads or their anti-adblocking wall. However, in some cases we've found that your settings might have changed which is why ads are suddenly appearing. posted an hour agoFor non-Premium users, our payment page displays when we update the extension to keep you informed on changes we've made and as a reminder to consider upgrading to Premium. There is no obligation to upgrade and you can dismiss the page by clicking the "x" on the browser tab. You can also dismiss this page by going to the Advanced tab on your ABP settings and unchecking the box next to "Allow Adblock Plus to show occasional promotional messages." Developer response

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 20034667, 25 days agoThis will remain a 1 star until ABP decides to stop interrupting my mornings with pop-up ads. Other ad blockers have enough common sense not to CAUSE THEIR OWN POP-UP ADS. When good ad blockers like uBlock Origin update, they do it quietly without bothering the user. The people at ABP thought you wouldn't mind annoying adverts if it was from them. Advertising to me a product I already have installed is a sure sign these people do not respect users time.

posted 2 months agoWe appreciate your feedback. We use a system called smart allowlisting: if you do not visit a website that you have allowlisted within 7 days, it gets automatically removed from your allowlisted websites. If you visit it in 7 days, it will get renewed for another 7 days.
